The penya movement continues to grow and strengthen its presence around the world, reflecting the interest that Barça generates. Against this backdrop, the Board of Directors has approved the addition of eight new organisations to the club's official register of penyes: five newly established penyes and three that have regained their official status following a period of inactivity.
Five new penyes approved by the Board of Directors
Five new penyes from different regions have taken the step towards official recognition, aiming to promote support for Barça in their respective areas, both in Catalonia and the rest of Spain, as well as elsewhere in Europe.
In Girona, the Penya Blaugrana de Vilablareix - Pau Cubarsí was established on the initiative of a group of families and local residents who wanted to create a meeting place for Barça fans in the town, where they could watch the team's matches together, promote support for Barça and contribute to local community life. The response has been very positive, as demonstrated by the first event organised for a match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, which attracted more than 120 participants.
Meanwhile, the Penya Barcelonista Mutxamel (Alicante) already has almost 100 members and aims to establish itself as a place where local Barça fans can come together and follow the team. Its premises are regularly open for men's first-team matches and finals involving the women's team. The penya has also organised social gatherings and meals ahead of major fixtures, particularly Clásicos.
In the Canary Islands, the Penya Blaugrana Isla de La Graciosa was established to bring together Barça fans on this unique island, which has just 734 inhabitants. With almost 50 members, the penya hopes to organise trips in the future to follow Barça in both domestic and European competitions, as well as initiatives to bring the Barça experience closer to fans on the island.
Elsewhere in Europe, the penya movement continues to demonstrate FC Barcelona's international reach. The Penya Barcelonista Eslovaca Kosice - Culers Family is the result of years of work by an active community of Slovak Barça fans who shared news about the Club through their digital channels. Over time, their activities expanded to include trips to Barcelona and gatherings to watch matches, helping to establish a stable and active community of supporters. One of their most notable initiatives was organising a screening of the Copa del Rey final between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid at a cinema in Košice, an event attended by approximately 135 people.
In Italy, the Penya Barcelonista Manerbio BS, established in 2026 in the province of Brescia, already has 70 members and is working to become a focal point for Barça supporters in the area. The Italian penya promotes sporting and cultural activities while working to foster FC Barcelona's values, including respect, sportsmanship and community spirit.
Chicago, Falset and Peralta regain their official penyes
In addition to the five newly established penyes, three places as diverse as Falset (Tarragona), Peralta (Navarra) and Chicago (United States) once again have an official FC Barcelona penya. The revival of these organisations will help maintain the longstanding Barça traditions in their respective areas and resume activities under new boards of directors.
The Penya Barça Falset, in the Priorat region, is reviving the town's Barça tradition, which dates back to 1963. The penya had remained active for decades, closely associated with a well-known establishment in Falset. Over the years, its activities gradually declined, and a fire that forced the closure of its traditional meeting place eventually led to the penya's disappearance. Now, a group of young Barça fans has spearheaded its revival, and it already has 218 members.
The Peña Blaugrana Azkoyen de Peralta, in Navarra, is another organisation that has regained its official status. The penya stands out for its ability to mobilise supporters, having attracted 230 members in a short space of time, demonstrating the enthusiasm generated by the project in Peralta. Bringing together fans from different generations, it is working to strengthen support for Barça in the Ribera de Navarra area through social activities, match screenings and trips to follow all the Club's teams.
Finally, in the United States, the Peña Barcelonista Chicago has become a focal point for Barça supporters in the Windy City. The organisation was founded by a group of Barça fans who recognised the lack of a community space where they could share the experience of watching matches and promote Catalan culture abroad. Its activities focus on promoting support for Barça and showcasing Catalonia's cultural heritage. Its initiatives include gatherings to watch matches, Catalan language classes, gastronomic activities and trips connected with FC Barcelona matches in the United States.
