On 10 April, the Penya Blaugrana d'Olvan held their official inauguration event at their meeting place on Carrer Ateneu. The inauguration was attended by FC Barcelona Director for the Social Area Josep-Ignasi Macià, and he was joined by a special guest, none other than the Club mascot CAT, much to the delight of young and old.

The event gathered together representatives from several penyas across Catalonia plus local authorities to officially welcome the new penya to the blaugrana penya movement. The event began after Macià arrived, when the official inauguration ceremony for the penya was presented by president Marta Solanich.

Solanich first gave a speech welcoming all those in attendance. She was followed by Antoni Valverde, representative from the Penyes del Bages, Berguedà and La Cerdanya advisory council, plus the mayor of Olvan, Sebastià Prat. The event concluded with a speech by Josep-Ignasi Macià, who gave an institutional gift to both the mayor and the president of the penya.

Speeches over, a commemorative plaque was then revealed, before the day ended with some finger food and a glass of cava for everyone in attendance.

The Penya Blaugrana d'Olvan came into being with the aim of gathering together FC Barcelona fans across the Berguedà region to enjoy a shared passion for all things blaugrana. They have 52 registered penya members so far, while there are close to 2,000 across the El Bages, Berguedà and La Cerdanya region.

The event was also attended by representatives from other blaugrana penyas in Sallent, Bagà and Santpedor, strengthening the ties between other entities and the feeling of belonging across the penya movement.
