On Friday 7 November, the Penya Barcelonista of Breda held a dinner to celebrate its 50th anniversary, attended by FC Barcelona vice-president Antonio Escudero. Also present were the board member responsible for roller hockey, Xavier Barbany; the president of the FC Barcelona Players’ Association, Juan Manuel Asensi; and the head of Amateur Sports and Hockey Sports Coordinator, Gaby Cairo.
In the early evening, the FC Barcelona delegation was welcomed at the PB Breda headquarters, where a commemorative plaque marking the supporters’ club’s 50th anniversary was unveiled. Representatives of the club and local penya members were able to spend some relaxed time together and exchange views.
The anniversary dinner was held at the Can Marlet Montseny restaurant. The president of PB Breda, Marc Pujol, gave the welcome speech. Other speakers included the delegate of the FC Barcelona Supporters’ Clubs Advisory Council for Gironès, La Garrotxa, La Selva and El Pla de l’Estany, Josep Oliva; Juan Manuel Asensi; and the mayor of Breda, Dídac Manresa.
Antonio Escudero delivered the closing remarks. Before dinner, gifts were presented. Around two hundred people attended the celebration, coming both from the penya itself and from the 14 other friendly penyas that wished to share in the joy of the occasion.
