This coming Saturday, 25 October, Barça Legends are set to play a game at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja (Nigeria) against a specially selected squad of African players. Kick off is at 3.00pm local time (4.00pm in Barcelona). The match will be their second this season after the game in Monterrey, which saw the blaugranes defeat the Monterrey Legends 2-3.

Coach Albert Ferrer has the following squad available for the game – Jesús Angoy, Vítor Baia, Samuel Okunowo, Philippe Christanval, Andreu Fontàs, Marc Valiente, Juan Pablo Sorín, Fernando Navarro, Juan Carlos Rodríguez, Alex Song, Roberto Trashorras, Gaizka Mendieta, Roger Garcia, Haruna Babangida, Nolito, Ludovic Giuly, Jonatan Soriano and Javier Saviola. Ferrer has called up two Nigerians who played for Barça in defender Samuel Okunowo and forward Haruna Babangida.

New faces for the blaugranes

Alex Song and Andreu Fontàs will be making their debuts for the Barça Legends in Abuja. Song joined from Arsenal in England and played two seasons for the club, while La Masia trained Fontàs left to go on loan at RCD Mallorca after the 12/13 season before continuing his career at Celta de Vigo. The Catalan retired this summer after spending the last seven seasons playing for MLS side Sporting Kansas City in the United States of America.

Africa Legends coach Samson Siasia has called up the following players – Essam El Hadary, Victor Enyeama, Mark Fish, Taiye Taiwo, Elderson Echiejile, Igor Lolo, Didier Zokora, Allasane Ndour, Jay Jay Okocha, Khalilou Fadiga, Nwankwo Kanu, Obafemi Martins, Victor Ikpeba, Julius Agahowa, Emmanuel Adebayor, El Hadji Diouf, Salomon Kalou and Daniel Amokachi.
