The FC Barcelona penya family continues to grow with the addition of four new clubs that have been officially recognised by the Board of Directors: Penya Barcelonista de Muscat (Oman), Yerevan Barcelonista (Armenia), Peña Barcelonista de Talarrubias (Badajoz) and Peña Barcelonista "Toni Alonso" Valencia de Alcántara (Cáceres).
With these four, Barça now has 1,212 official supporters’ clubs around the world.
Two new international penyes
Two of the new additions to the family are international: Penya Barcelonista de Muscat (Oman) and Yerevan Barcelonista (Armenia). At present, they are the only official supporters’ clubs in their respective countries.
The Muscat penya was founded in May 2017 with the aim of bringing together all Barça fans in the city and creating an active community around the club. Over the years, it has organised blood donation campaigns, tournaments with fans of other teams, and solidarity activities. It also maintains close ties with other penyes in the region, such as those in Baghdad, Kuwait and Doha, with whom it has shared trips and experiences following the team.
In Armenia, three friends turned a shared dream into reality with the creation of the Yerevan Barcelonista. The penya seeks to unite the thousands of Barça fans in the country and already has plans to organise matchday gatherings, leisure activities, football tournaments and volunteering programmes for young culers. Its goal is to forge a strong bond between supporters in Yerevan and across Armenia, while also connecting with other penyes in the region, such as Georgia.
Two new penyes in Extremadura
In Extremadura, Barça passion remains alive and well thanks to the thousands of fans who want to experience their Barça spirit in an active way.
In Talarrubias, a group of culers have founded a new official penya with the aim of creating a meeting point in the area to watch Barça games. With 101 members already signed up, the Peña Barcelonista de Talarrubias aims not only to gather for matches at its headquarters, but also to organise activities, support the team on away trips and travel to Barcelona to attend games.
Meanwhile, the Peña Barcelonista "Toni Alonso" Valencia de Alcántara was launched in November 2024 by two culer families with a long history as club members. It was created to foster the Barça spirit in the town and surrounding area, and already has around twenty people interested in joining. The PB "Toni Alonso" Valencia de Alcántara plans to organise activities for all ages and establish exchanges with other penyes, especially those in Portugal due to the geographical proximity.
With these new additions, the supporters’ club movement continues to strengthen its presence both in Spain and worldwide, consolidating the global network of penyes that keep the spirit of FC Barcelona alive.
