Siyuan Chen, a 30-year-old passionate culer and member of the Penya Blaugrana de Shanghai, has lived an adventure very few would dare to take on: cycling all the way from China to Barcelona.

Siyuan’s love for Barça was born in his teenage years, when he was captivated by Ronaldinho’s magical football, and ever since then his heart has beaten in blaugrana. That passion has never faded—on the contrary, it has grown stronger with the years, fuelled by global stars like Messi. And, inevitably, he has now fallen under the spell of Barça’s new wonder, Lamine Yamal, who he considers equally extraordinary.

Last April, Siyuan decided to unite his two great passions—Barça and long-distance cycling—in a unique challenge: to ride from Chengdu (China) to Barcelona to watch a match. Wearing Lamine’s shirt, he set off alone on a journey that took him across 19 countries in eight months, covering more than 13,000 kilometres. He passed through Kazakhstan, Russia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy… until finally reaching his dream destination: Barcelona.

On 13 September, Siyuan arrived at the doors of the Spotify Camp Nou, overwhelmed with emotion. Although in the end he wasn’t able to attend a match in person, as he had first planned, his dream had already come true. And along the way, he met many other culers with whom he shared laughter, stories and unforgettable moments.

Now Siyuan is continuing his journey from Turkey, proudly wearing the blaugrana shirt. His goal? To cycle through the Middle East, North and South America, and Africa, spreading the passion for FC Barcelona across the globe.
