Three new Barça Supporters' Clubs were given official status by the Board of Directors on Tuesday, making a total of 1,210 official FC Barcelona Supporters' Clubs around the world. The new groups are the Penya Barcelonista Olímpic Pira (Tarragona), the Peña Azulgrana Tampico Madero (Mexico) and the Penya Barcelonista Hondureña de Tegucigalpa (Honduras). With the incorporation of these new clubs the movement continues to grown both in Catalonia and in Latin America.

Small town, big Supporters' Club

The Penya Barcelonista Olímpic Pira can be found in the small town of Pira in the Tarragona region of Catalonia. In the town of just 500 inhabitants, love for Barça is passed on from generation to generation but during the recent pandemic the town lost its focal point for watching Barça games as the only bar in Pira was forced to close. Without a meeting point, the fans needed a way of sharing their passion for Barça so a group of culers from the town came together to found the Supporters' Club and recover that sense of collective spirit.

Olímpic Pira

With the support of the local council, who provided a venue, the Supporters' Club was officially founded. With members of all ages and a desire to participate actively in the town, the PB Olímpic Pira describes itself as a blaugrana family that follows all the Barça teams.

Passion grows in Latin America

In Latin America many groups of Barça fans are taking the step of forming new Supporters' Clubs. Two of the three clubs recently made official by the Board of Directors are indeed from Latin America.

The Peña Azulgrana Tampico Madero from the south of Tamaulipas in Mexico was born out of a dream: bringing together all the Barça fans from the region. Currently, it has 79 members and is highly active: meet ups to watch matches with music, raffles and other activities to turn each Barça game into a real event; trips to matches; football tournaments and video games; family activities on a Sunday, 'Blaugrana Kids', and charity work.

Also in the same part of the world we find the Penya Barcelonista Hondureña de Tegucigalpa, also made official this week. The group was born 10 years ago out of a passion for FC Barcelona from families and friends. The group began with informal meetings to watch matches and soon became a solid community of fans, united by FC Barcelona's values and style of play. Today PB Hondureña de Tegucigalpa has more than 100 members.

Hondureña

The Supporters' Club from the Honduran capital wants to keep growing and create a network with other Supporters' Clubs from the region, and of course, come to Barcelona to see a game in the flesh.
