Board of Directors recognises two new international penyes

The FC Barcelona Board of Directors has granted official status to two penyes, both of which international but are separated by more than 15,000km: the Penya Blaugrana Shanghai and the Penya Gent Barcelonista in Bogotá. With these two, there are now 161 official FC Barcelona supporters clubs on the international stage.

Third in Colombia

The Colombian capital is the home of the Penya Gent Blaugrana de Bogotá, the third in the country and the second in this particular city.

Now with official status, they define themselves as a group of loyal FC Barcelona fans who form a large family with the intention of positively impacting Colombian society through application of the Barça values.

For two years, members of this club have been gathering to watch matches and carry out all kinds of activities, and especially sports. They have a men's and a women's football team and hold a tournament that they call the “Cruyff Putellas Cup” as well as organising penalty competitions.

They are also closelt associated to the Catalan community in Colombia, and even run courses so that their supporters can learn Catalan.

Chinese supporters since 2007

The Penya Blaugrana Shanghai, which yesterday finally received the official seal from the FC Barcelona Board of Directors, ​​is the third in China and the only official club in this city. But although its official status has only now been recognized, Chinese fans in Shanghai have actually been sharing moments together to cheer on Barça since 2007.

The PB Shanghai was there for the team's Asian tours in 2007 and 2010, and also visited Barcelona to watch the team play. They also supported the Barça Legends on their visit to the Asian country this year.

PB Shanghai also arranges screenings  of Barça matches, such as the Clásicos or the Champions League finals, which they organize in association with various entities in China.

Among its activities, they run six fan tournaments, always with a great response, as well as eSports tournaments. Every year they hold a meeting of all their members and have also encouraged the exchange of opinions with other official clubs such as Penya FC Barcelona Japan.
