FC Barcelona vice-president Antonio Escudero attends fiftieth anniversary of the Peña Barcelonista de Almansa

The Peña Barcelonista de Almansa, from Albacete in Castilla la Mancha, celebrated its first half decade of existence on June 26.

Barça vice-president Antonio Escudero was among the guests at the clubhouse and received a warm welcome from the president of the 50-year old supporter’s club, Jesús Parra. Former player Ricardo Serna was also present.

The party then moved to the town hall for a reception with local mayor, Javier Sánchez, with the traditional exchange of gifts and the chance for the Barça board member to sign the book of honour.

The day ended with a dinner for 150 people, including several representatives of other Barça penyas from the region, as well as fan groups of other teams in the town, all of whom have excellent relations with the blaugrana supporters.

The speeches included many words of thanks to FC Barcelona for attending these celebrations of 50 years of support for Barça. Escudero also had a surprise for everyone in the form of a video message recorded by none other than Barça president Joan Laporta to thank everyone for all they do for the movement despite being so far from the Camp Nou. He also encouraged the PB de Almansa to come to Barcelona for a reception and to enjoy watching the team play live.
