25 years of Barça support in Estepona

The Peña Barcelonista Estepona celebrates anniversary at events attended by board member Josep Ignasi Macià.

On Saturday 7 May, the Peña Barcelonista de Estepona from the Costa del Sol celebrated its 25th anniversary.

The events began with a debate on blaugrana affairs that was attended by former Barça players Ricardo Serna and Juan José Almagro.

The guests then made their way to the local clubhouse for the institutional part followed by a lunch together, the point at which Josep Ignasi Macià was received by the president of PB Estepona, Andrés Guerrero. Macià spoke of the importance of fans who live so far away from Camp Nou and the good work the penya does on the Costa del Sol.

Local mayor José María García Urbano also attended the events, as did representatives of other clubs in the area. The hosts also paid special tribute to their oldest member, 95-year-old Rafael Leiva, and also honoured the owner of their clubhouse for his efforts during the pandemic to ensure the financial survival of the organisation.
