It was not to be for the Barça futsal team as they went down to a 3-2 defeat in the fourth game of the league play off final against Jimbee Cartagena in Murcia. Tino Pérez's team were 46 seconds away from taking the tie into a fifth game but two goals at the death from Waltinho and Pablo Ramírez handed the home side a 3-1 win in the tie and the league title.

Two Barça legends of futsal, Dyego and Lozano, played their final games as blaugranes in the defeat but they will be remembered  for their many successes.

Barça strike first

The blaugranes showed early on their determination to take the tie into a fifth and deciding game. Barça struck the woodwork twice early on before Antonio put them ahead from a free kick in the sixth minute of the contest.

A minute later a disputed penalty saw Cartagena draw level when Waltinho scored from the spot. Nevertheless, Tino Pérez's team did not let their heads drop and were back in front just before half time thanks to Antonio's second of the game.

A forgettable minute

In the second half Barça impressed with their solidity. Cartagena struggled to create chances and Erick and Pito went close to making it 3-1 for the blaugranes. With just 46 seconds remaining Waltinho made it 2-2 and extra time seemed inevitable. However, in a cruel twist for the blaugranes, Pablo Ramírez made it 3-2 with 15 seconds remaining to send the league title to Cartagena.
