PREVIEW | FC Barcelona v Celta Vigo

Hansi Flick's team welcome the Galicians to the Estadi Olímpic for the first of two consecutive home games in La Liga

Focus back on La Liga as FC Barcelona welcome Celta Vigo to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on Saturday, kick off at 4.15pm CEST, in La Liga. With just seven games in the league season remaining, Barça have a four point lead over second placed Real Madrid so there is no margin for error for Hansi Flick's side.

Despite their first defeat of 2025 on Tuesday against Borussia Dortmund, the blaugranes made it to the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2019. In La Liga Barça can still boast an unbeaten 12 game run with 10 wins and two defeats.

Earlier this season in Balaídos

Barça were held to a 2-2 draw by Celta Vigo earlier in the season in the Balaídos stadium. Hansi Flick's team took a two goal lead in the contest thanks to goals from Raphinha and Lewandowski, however, the home side came back to take a point with two goals late on in Vigo. Barça will be without long term injury victims Marc Bernal, Casadó and Ter Stegen along with Alejandro Balde after the left back picked up a hamstring injury in the win over Leganés last weekend.

Celta battling for a place in Europe

The Galicians come to Barcelona in good form with Claudio Giráldez's team battling for a place in Europe next season thanks to just one defeat in their last nine matches in La Liga. That reverse came last week in a 2-0 home defeat against Espanyol so the visitors will be looking to bounce back despite the absence of defender Carl Starfelt with a hamstring problem.

The game against the side from Vigo is the first in a run of two games at the Estadi Olímpic against teams looking to qualify for European competition. On Tuesday the visitors to Montjuïc are Mallorca, level with Celta on 43 points and just a place below the Galicians in eighth position in the table.
