Barça 34-30 Recoletas Atl. Valladolid: The wins keep coming

11 wins now for the Barça handball team after a 34-30 win over Recoletas Atlético Valladolid in the Palau Blaugrana. An excellent end to the first half saw Carlos Ortega's team take control of the game with Richardson top scoring with 11 goals and Pérez de Vargas making 12 saves in goal. 

Early parity 

Carlsbogard's early goals gave the blaugranes a 9-6 lead after 12 minutes but Valladolid came back into the contest to level it up at 11-11. It was at that moment that Barça turned up the pressure and a run of eight unanswered goals saw them take a 19-11 lead into the half time break. 

In the second half Valladolid pulled the lead back to five at 20-15 but it was never enough and Richardson led Barça to a 31-21 lead at minute 48. 

Victory sewn up

Keeper Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas played his part with 12 saves before making way for Saric. Barça took their foot off the gas slightly towards the end but still had enough in the tank to win 34-30. The blaugranes are next in action on Thursday when they face Zabreg at home in the EHF Champions League.
