Flick: 'I love the hunger my team has'

The Barça coach reacts to his side wonderful win at home over Valencia to record an important three points in the league

FC Barcelona pulled off a vital win in La Liga on Sunday with the 7-1 victory over Valencia in the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. Barça coach Hansi Flick could not hide his satisfaction with his team's performance in his post match press conference at Montjuïc: "We started really focused, with a lot of intensity and we scored some good goals. For me, it was the perfect game and we saw a lot of things from players who have not played that much." The blaugrana boss went on to praise his side's attitude: "I love the hunger my team has and how they show it. The game did not stop at 2-0 or 3-0, we fought on until the end, that is what I like about my players."

Against Valencia, Barça reached 100 goals for the season, an impressive figure but for the coach it "means nothing." Flick continued: "What we want is to put on a performance and win trophies, that is what matters."

Fermín López came into the starting XI against Valencia and scored twice, helping Barça to their century. For Hansi Flick, the Andalusian was "fantastic, for me man of the match." He continued: "He was involved in lots of the goals and he's a special player. The dynamism he brings to the game was spectacular."

The coach highlighted the competitiveness in the squad. "It's a great situation and great news to see so man quality players, That is what we need and that's what makes us good. We have a great team and you can see that. The atmosphere is really good and we are doing a great job."
