It is official: Sergio Lozano is now officially a Palau Blaugrana legend. On Friday in an emotional event which took place after the game between Barça and Valdepeñas, the club paid tribute to the figure who has been captain of the futsal side with the retirement of his number nine shirt. Now that jersey can be seen hanging from the roof at the Palau alongside that of Paco Sedano, another Barça futsal legend.

A legendary career

the event also looked back at some of the best moments from the career of Sergio Lozano with five special goals. The first figure to pay tribute was Paco Sedano, who, with the first ever Barça shirt of Lozano in his hands, remembered Lozano's first goal away for the Barça Futsal team against Carnicer Torrejón.

Then came the turn of Javi Rodríguez, the current Barça manager and also a close friend of Lozano's, who came with a replica of the First League title won by the former Barça number 9. The moment chosen was a double penalty against PozoMurcia that helped them win that trophy.

Ferrao was next up to remember the day that Lothar became the top goalscorer in the history of Barça Futsal with his 248th goal against Minsk in a Champions League match. The Brazilian, one of the top offensive players of the last few years, brought the boots as a memento.

Then Carlos Ortiz remembered the 300th goal for Lothar that was scored in the final of the Champions League in Lafayette in 2022, handing him the medal won in that game against Sporting CP.

Then to round off the 334 goals came the most emotional moment of the evening: the presence of Cristina and Alejandra, his wife and his daughter, with the captain's armband.

A jersey for history

with all the main characters on the court then came the most awaited moment: Lozano scoring his last goal in the Palau. That allowed everyone to see what they had come to witness: the shirt hanging high on the roof at the Palau Blaugrana.
