Dinner and reception in London ahead of Chelsea match
The FC Barcelona men's first team are in London to play a UEFA Champions League match against Chelsea and the Penya Blaugrana London of Great Britain have been front and centre with two events in the run up to the match.
The first saw PB London organise an evening meal yesterday, which was attended by the FC Barcelona board of director member responsible for the Social Area, Josep-Ignasi Macià. Also in attendance were some members of PB Átha Cliath (Dublin), given they were in the city and invited by the local penya. The dinner was also served to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the PB in London.
Reception in London today
Secondly, FC Barcelona organised a reception with the PB from London today. Representatives from the penya spent some time with FC Barcelona vice-president Rafa Yuste, Josep-Ignasi Macià, and Enric Masip, former handball player and member of the FC Barcelona President's Office at the team hotel this morning. And there was a special surprise for the London penya members as first team players Marc Bernal and Dro made an appearance, with fans clamouring for photos and autographs.
The events reaffirm FC Barcelona's commitments to international penyas, which remain a cornerstone for transmitting blaugrana passion worldwide.
