New official penyes in Olvan (Barcelona) and Baltimore (USA)
The FC Barcelona supporters’ club movement continues to grow worldwide with the addition of two new official penyes: Penya Blaugrana d’Olvan, in El Berguedà (Barcelona), and Baltimore Blaugrana, in the United States.
Penya Blaugrana d’Olvan: Barça passion from a village of 900 inhabitants
Located in the municipality of Olvan (Barcelona), within the territorial grouping of Bages, El Berguedà and La Cerdanya, this penya was born from the initiative of a group of local residents who gathered at the village’s Athenaeum to watch Barça matches, particularly during the final months of last season.
With only 900 inhabitants, Olvan already has 60 penyistes determined to strengthen Barça’s presence in the area by organising activities in collaboration with other local associations and nearby penyes. And, of course, they aim to attend as many matches as possible, both for the men’s first team and the other professional teams, whether at Barça’s own grounds or away from home.
Baltimore Blaugrana: Barça expands in the United States
With the official recognition of Baltimore Blaugrana, Barça now has 15 official penyes in the United States and a total of 165 international penyes.
Founded in September 2024, Baltimore Blaugrana seeks to create a home for all Barça supporters in this city on the Chesapeake Bay, on the US East Coast. In the spirit of Més que un Club, they want to build a culer community by promoting the club’s values and encouraging young talent through the Barça methodology.
The penya already has 62 members, and that number continues to grow with every watch party they organise, one of their main activities. In addition, the penya runs free youth training programs based on the Barça methodology. In fact, its president, Fesseha Demessae, is a certified FC Barcelona coach.
Next August, taking advantage of the 2026 World Cup being held in the United States, Mexico and Canada, they will host the World Cup 2026 Community Integration Conference, an event bringing together community leaders, clubs and institutions.
