New in the Ed Sheeran collection: retro-style shirt now on sale
Two days before Sunday’s Clásico, the fashion collection linked to the club’s logo-change campaign, in collaboration with Spotify, welcomes a new addition. From Friday at 2pm CEST, fans can go to the online store and buy a new FC Barcelona shirt inspired by the original 2004/05 kit, combining Barça’s classic blue and red with pink tones from Ed Sheeran’s album Play, along with retro detailing on the collar and sleeve trim. The shirt features the club crest on the chest and a textured Play logo on the fabric. It's a design that celebrates the British singer’s passion for football and recalls a special season when both Sheeran began recording his music and Barça won the league title.
This new release joins the existing collections recently made available on the Barça e-commerce platform, at Barça Stores, and at Nike’s shop in Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona. It includes a limited edition of 1,899 Match-quality shirts, plus a special set of just 22 units, also Match-quality, signed by the men’s and women’s starting players from the two fixtures where they're wearing the kit. As a new feature, there is also a collection of 11 shirts signed by Ed Sheeran himself. To complete the range, there’s a lifestyle line (with only a few units remaining) inspired by the visual world of Play, featuring two T-shirts, a sweatshirt and a scarf.
