There is a lot of love for Barça in Japan, with the recent first team summer tour in the country testament to precisely that. As such, Barça Legends are to return there a year after defeating Real Madrid Leyendas 1-2 in added time through an own goal by Fernando Sanz after Javier Saviola got the first. This time the side coached by Chapi Ferrer will again meet Real Madrid Leyendas on Saturday 22 November at 17.30 local time (9.30 in Barcelona) at the Ajinomoto Stadium, which has a capacity of 63,700 spectators and is home to the Urawa Red Diamonds.

Four blaugrana players have already confirmed they will be in the squad, namely Carles Puyol, Andrés Iniesta, Edgar Davids and Rivaldo. The remaining members of the 18 player squad will be confirmed over the coming weeks.

About the Barça Legends

The Barça Legends project was launched in 2016, run directly by the club. It brings together former players in a professional framework that helps spread the Barça brand and values worldwide. Since its creation, more than 80 ex-players have featured at least once for the Legends in matches around the globe.
