Another milestone reached for Pedro Fernández 'Dro' with FC Barcelona. The La Masia trained midfielder has made his competitive first team debut against Real Sociedad at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. Wearing the number 27, and still only 17 years old, he played the first half of the match for Barça.

Joined La Masia in 2022

The Galician showed character and flashes of quality on the pitch despite being up against a tough Real Sociedad defence, his technique and vision of the game were on show, continuing along the same lines since he joined from his home town club Nigrán in 2022.

He has moved up from the U16B side to now playing for the first team on 28 September 2025, all the more remarkable as he only moved up to the U19s last season. From the start of the 24/25 season, he played for the U19A and B sides, including going on to play, score and win the UEFA Youth League.

These performances merited starting this 2025/26 season with the first team, going on the Asian tour with FC Barcelona where he played his first match, including scoring in the 1-3 win against Vissel Kobe on 27 July. Dro is yet more proof of the confidence coach Hansi Flick places in young players and La Masia.
