Hansi Flick: 'Dreaming is allowed'

The Barça coach, happy after reaching the Copa del Rey final, is also aware that making the final is just the start

Barça coach Hansi Flick has guided his team to their second final of the season. After victory in the Metropolitano against Atlético Madrid booked a meeting with Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final, the German was excited but also measured in his post-game press appearance. "Dreaming is allowed," said Flick, before cautiously adding, "it's a good moment for us but everything can change quickly and we have to be focused."

Key for the coach was keeping a clean sheet against "one of the best sides in Spain and Europe. We are really happy." Flick continued: "We need to work hard and remain concentrated. We want to win trophies - we have won one but the Club has room for more."

Despite having the chance to win more silverware, Flick was prudent: "In my head, the Clásico final is still a long way off - right now it's not important. There are lots of games before." The coach had praise for match winner Ferran. "He had played in other cup games and did well. He deserved to play and I am happy he has scored again," said Flick.

The coach also mentioned the contribution of second half substitute Eric Garcia, amongst others. "He gives us stability in defence and that's what we need from him. I told him to stay, that I had confidence in him and that he would play," revealed the German.
