Barça 92-103 Baxi Manresa: Damage done in third quarter

The Barça basketball team went down to defeat 103-92 to Baixa Manresa in the Palau Blaugrana in a game in which the third quarter cost Joan Peñarroya's team dear. The ACB league clash saw the visitors outscore Barça 32-17 in the third period, giving the blaugranes too much to do in the remainder of the contest despite 21 points from Metu, 20 from Parker and 16 from Brizuela. 

Early equality 

Barça started the game well with Brizuela leading the way. The Basque guard scored seven of Barça's first nine points to help Peñarroya's team to an early 16-8 lead. However, seven unanswered points from Manresa and a three pointer from Alston saw the visitors draw level at 20-20 going into the second period. 

The to and fro of the first period carried on in the second with Manresa scoring six three pointers to take a slight advantage at 46-44 come half time. 

Manresa get away 

The third quarter was Barça's undoing. The visitors could not put a foot wrong in attack, scoring 32 points in the period to take a 17 point lead into the final period at 78-61. Barça tried to reduce the deficit and Metu's basket saw come within 10 at 86-76. Manresa's lead did fall below 10 points but the visitors steadied the ship with Alston scoring 29 points in the 103-92 win.
