Hansi Flick: 'I'm satisfied'

German coach pleased to secure second spot and says he has no preferences regarding potential opponents in the last sixteen

Hansi Flick was happy enough to end the Champions League league phase with a draw and second place out of 36 teams, and isn't too concerned which club FC Barcelona get to play next because "there are no easy opponents."

Speaking after the final whistle, he said "I'm satisfied with the result. We played well against a good team with a great playing philosophy ... I am happy for the team, for the fans and for the club."

As for potential opponents in the last sixteen, which could be Monaco, Brest, Benfica or PSG, he said "whatever happens, we'll have to wait until Friday to what happens." He added there are some surprise teams that have failed to qualify among the top eight teams, so that makes this Champions League even more difficult because some of the lower seeded teams are actually extremely strong.

"Hard work is more important than potential opponents" he added. Whatever happens, Barça now have an extra two weeks to prepare.
