Valdepeñas 2-3 Barça: Late winner to keep run going

An Álex Yepes goal three minutes from time adds to earlier strikes by Fits and Catela as the blaugranes come through a very tactical test

It wasn't easy at all, but the Barça futsal team came away with another three points from the midweek game away to Valdepeñas, winning 2-3 at a tough place to go after a determined performance.

Fits scored a stunning effort before Catela extended the lead, but Eloy Rojas and Jorge Carrasco drew the home side level. Ultimately, Álex Yepes scored a superb header after a year on the sidelines to win the game, the fourth victory in a row.

Effective blaugranes

Valdepeñas were willed on by a vocal home crowd and Barça found it a bit tough to settle into the game. The home side employed tactics to force mistakes from the visitors and Miquel Feixas was called into action, including a double save from Fernando and Bynho (min 5).

However, Barça gradually grew into the contest, especially after Tino Pérez called a time out (min 10). The chances were coming, Martel first, before Fits dribbled through past the keeper to open the scoring (0-1, min 13).

Barça remained effective after the restart, including Catela controlling a Miquel Feixas long pass, making the most of a lack of organisation in defence to score the second, his first goal of the season (0-2, min 23).

Valdepeñas react

The goal emboldened Barça to control the game more, but it was precisely then when Valdepeñas cut the lead in half by an indirect free kick by Eloy Rojas (1-2, min 26). They weren't finished, but it needed a superb back heel by Jorge Carrasco that surprised Feixas to draw level (2-2, min 30).

Álex heads the winner

Valdepeñas were very resolute and took the sting out of the game. Barça were trying to find a winner, but Diego saved from Álex and Matheus. He couldn't do anything about Álex' header though, his first goal after a serious injury (2-3, min 37).

The Murcian's goal proved decisive and Barcelona took the three points home after their fourth win in a row. Next up, Movistar Inter on 23 November at the Palau Blaugrana (kick-off 5.00pm CET).
