It’s a special occasion where all fans and supporters will be able to watch former Barça players, united in a common cause, a tribute to Angel Pedraza.
Angel Pedraza, former Barça player, who died earlier this year, will have a very special tribute paid to him next Friday in Palma de Mallorca. Some of his former teammates at Barça, and other ex players, will appear at the event.
The Association expedition will include, amongst others, former Barça players Miguel Angel Nadal, Robert Fernandez, Jose Perez Serer, Xavier Sanchez Jara, Gerard Lopez, and Esteban Fradera. Directors Josep Moratalla and Josep Palau will also be there.
The game will be played next Saturday, 5th of November, at 19.30 at Balears Stadium and will be a friendly match between a team of veterans from Mallorca and an Association of Barça Players team. In this way, the promoters of the event would like to pay a posthumous tribute to Pedraza, who died last January at 48, due to cancer, and who had been the former manager of Atletic Baleares. Tickets cost 1 Euro and the proceeds will go to the family of the former player. Tickets can be purchased at the offices of Atletic Balears from Monday to Friday between 17:00 and 21:00.
The first player from La Masia who made the first team
Angel Pedraza was a FC Barcelona player between 1980 and 1984. A midfield player brought up through the youth teams, Pedraza made his debut for the first team in 1980 in a UEFA Cup match, and became the first player from the Academy to make the first team. He played 90 games for the first team, scoring 6 goals. Following his professional career as a player, he worked for 5 years on the Barça coaching staff, where he managed the Cadet B, Cadet A, and Junior B teams. At the same time, he played 21 games with the Association of Barça Players.
Pedraza participated in the tribute that FC Barcelona organised in March 2010, for the squad that had won the League title in 84-85.
